An established and highly respected organisation based in Merseyside is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join the business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Operating within a highly regulated environment, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Finance will lead the financial reporting function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
Managing the year-end audit process and acting as the key contact for external auditors.
Overseeing the production of statutory accounts and supporting corporation tax and VAT reporting requirements.
Driving continuous improvements across financial controls, reporting processes, and systems.
Leading the balance sheet review process, ensuring integrity and accuracy across all reconciliations.
Managing cashflow forecasting and liquidity reporting.
Providing high-quality financial analysis and commentary for senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
Supporting regulatory reporting submissions and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies where required.
Developing, mentoring, and leading a high-performing finance team.
Ensuring robust risk management practices and compliance with internal control frameworks.
