Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, UK-based organisation in the Cheshire who are seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller on an initial 3-6 month contract.

This interim opportunity is ideal for a technically strong and commercially aware Financial Controller who is available to start immediately.

Salary/Benefits:

  • £350 – £500 per day (depending on experience)
  • 3-6 month interim contract
  • Hybrid, 3 days in Cheshire, 2 days from home

Job Duties:

  • Act as a key financial partner to the senior leadership team, supporting decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Oversee the organisation's financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Deliver insightful financial reporting to support performance improvement and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes and liaise with auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes including automation and simplification.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide technical support and first-line review of financial reports.
  • Deliver statutory and management accounts under IFRS & UK GAAP.
  • Lead treasury management including cashflow forecasting and working capital improvements.
  • Ensure tax compliance across corporation tax, VAT, and payroll.

Ideal Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Immediately available or available at very short notice
  • Previous experience in an interim Financial Controller role
  • Strong background in statutory reporting, financial controls, and compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in managing finance teams through change or transition
  • Commercially astute with the ability to support senior decision-makers
  • Advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership skills in a fast-paced environment
