Interim Financial Accountant β Liverpool
Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a large, well-established UK organisation to appoint a Financial Accountant into their central finance function on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Based in Liverpool, this role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-performing finance team supporting multiple UK business units.
This opportunity would suit a technically strong Interim Financial Accountant who enjoys period-end ownership, balance sheet control and working closely with Treasury and Tax colleagues in a complex, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run and support period-end accounting processes, ensuring deadlines are met accurately
- Maintain strong financial controls across the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and support VAT and other statutory returns
- Reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple group entities
- Support foreign currency management, including hedge accounting
- Working capital and cash flow reporting and analysis
- Discount analysis, reporting and control activities
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting requirements from wider finance teams
- Build strong relationships with central and site-based finance teams, including Treasury and Tax
About You:
- Available immediately or within 4 weeks and be commited to a 12 month contract
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong technical accounting background with a clear focus on controls and compliance
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Confident communicator and relationship builder across finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP or large ERP Systems highly desirable
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS 9, 15, 16) would be advantageous
