Job Description Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing company based on the Wirral to recruit an experienced Inventory & Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Site Controller, the Inventory & Cost Accountant will have end-to-end responsibility for the accuracy, reconciliation and financial control of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods inventory. End-to-end inventory reconciliation, ensuring physical stock, ERP records and financial positions are accurate. Lead cycle counts and stock takes, investigating discrepancies and implementing controls to prevent recurrence. Manage customer-owned inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, valuation and reporting. Analyse material consumption, production yields and inventory variances, working with Operations to identify root causes and corrective actions. Reconcile inventory, purchase and sales transactions with customer commitments, invoicing and financial ledgers. Develop and maintain robust ERP/database reporting, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and ensuring a single source of accurate inventory data. Support standard costs, BOMs, routings and inventory valuation processes. Establish and maintain effective inventory controls, segregation of duties and a robust monthly inventory close process. Partner with Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Operations and IT to resolve issues, improve processes and strengthen inventory controls. Ensure discrepancies are actively managed through to resolution and support internal and external audit requirements. Provide accurate inventory and financial information to support commercial decision-making and customer communications. CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience. Strong background within a manufacturing environment including extensive inventory, stock and cost accounting experience.
