Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Chester to recruit a qualified Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is an exciting opportunity to take accountability for Financial Accounting across the establishment.
You will be responsible for:
- Producing statutory consolidated financial statements
- Monthly management accounts
- Annual audits
- Financial control processes
- Compliance reporting
- Budget preparation and forecasting
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead financial accounting and year end processes to ensure delivery of timely and accurate external reporting.
- Oversee the year end close down of accounts and lead in the preparation of Financial Statements and Annual Reports.
- Technical lead on financial accounting, ensuring accurate reporting in line with UK accounting standards.
- Monitor upcoming changes in accounting standards and reporting and lead the implementation of such changes where required.
- Lead and manage the preparation and submission of a range of other external reporting.
- Co-ordinate the preparation and submission of Corporation tax returns for all group entities.
- Lead the day-to-day relationship with external auditors during both interim and year-end external audit.
- Lead the balance sheet review process. Ensure rigorous management accounting processes are in place to ensure balances are reconciled and can be supported.
- Lead the month end close process to deliver robust financial controls, reconciliations and deliver insightful variance analysis and forecasting of allocated central costs and accounting adjustments.
- Provide business partnering to budget holders.
Key Skills Required:
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
- Previous experience in a similar role producing statutory accounts and managing year end processes.
- Managing and guiding a small team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy with strong systems skills.
