A growing Accountancy Practice is looking to appoint a Client Manager into their St Helens office. This is an excellent opportunity where you'll work closely with a broad portfolio of SME clients, managing relationships while producing high-quality accounts and tax work, with the opportunity to mentor junior staff and genuinely add value to clients. Whether you are fully qualified, part-qualified or a strong QBE accountant, this role offers the chance to join a people-focused environment with long-term progression opportunities.

Client Manager Responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
  • Produce corporation tax computations and returns for review by senior leadership
  • Prepare deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations
  • Complete VAT returns and support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
  • Prepare periodic management accounts and management information reporting
  • Ensure statutory accounts and corporation tax returns are submitted within Companies House and HMRC deadlines
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
  • Manage your own portfolio of clients with oversight from senior leadership
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and support with training and development where required

Client Manager Attributes:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or Qualified By Experience (QBE)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within accountancy practice (or 8+ years for QBE applicants)
  • Able to prepare a high-quality final set of accounts for Partner review
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and business tax matters
  • Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts
