Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded organisation who are seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Senior Financial Accountant to join the team on an initial 6 month fixed-term contract. Based in Liverpool city centre, you will work a hybrid model with 2-3 days per week in the office. This opportunity is ideal for an immediately available ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who is looking to take ownership of a broad technical finance role on an initial 6 month contract.
Salary/Benefits:
- £60,000-£65,000 (pro rata)

Job Duties:
- Lead the production and audit of statutory financial statements for UK entities.
- Support the preparation of consolidated group financial statements and year-end reporting requirements.
- Act as the key contact for external auditors, managing information requests and resolving technical accounting matters.
- Oversee treasury activities, including cashflow forecasting, cash management and reporting.
- Support foreign currency management and provide recommendations regarding treasury and cash optimisation strategies.
- Manage VAT compliance processes and provide support on wider tax-related matters.
- Assist with the maintenance of the tax risk framework and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Lead and support capital accounting, fixed asset reporting and major capital project reporting.
- Ensure a robust financial controls environment is maintained across the organisation.
- Manage and support a small finance operations team, ensuring KPI delivery, month-end deadlines and continuous process improvement.
- Provide financial guidance and support to stakeholders across the wider business.
- Drive change initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of finance processes and reporting.
Who will I report in to? Head of Finance

Ideal Experience:
- ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant.
- Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Accountant role with significant year-end and statutory reporting responsibilities.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing external audits.
- Experience of financial management, reporting and financial controls within a regulated environment.
- Strong treasury, cashflow forecasting and cash management experience.
- Knowledge of VAT and wider tax compliance requirements.
- Experience managing or mentoring finance team members.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
- Available to commence employment quickly.
