An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a rapidly growing business based in Liverpool. This is a broad and highly visible role that will see you partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and drive commercial performance. Working within an ambitious and fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting, profitability analysis and business partnering activities. This position would suit a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their commercial finance and FP&A experience within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the production and maintenance of rolling sales, stock and cashflow forecasts.
- Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and working capital analysis.
- Produce and maintain monthly KPI and management reporting packs.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.
- Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting.
- Work closely with budget holders and department managers to monitor financial performance.
- Analyse variances against budget and provide meaningful commentary.
- Support budget-setting and reforecasting processes.
- Act as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders across the business.
- Translate financial information into clear commercial insights.
- Monitor sales and margin performance across multiple sales channels.
- Analyse product, customer and channel profitability.
- Identify performance trends, risks and opportunities to drive profitability.
- Support commercial reviews and performance reporting.
- Provide insight into market and competitor activity.
- Continuously improve financial reporting, forecasting tools and processes.
- Utilise Excel and financial systems to improve reporting efficiency and automation.
- Support a variety of commercial and finance-related projects as the business continues to grow.
About You
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with ongoing studies toward qualification.
- Previous experience within Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Analysis or a similar role.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
