Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team based in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded finance professional to take ownership of management reporting, forecasting, financial controls, and stakeholder engagement within a dynamic business environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial insight, supporting business performance, and driving process improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs in line with internal and group deadlines.
- Develop and enhance reporting and performance analysis.
- Partner with key stakeholders to review overhead expenditure and forecast future performance.
- Support and lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyse financial performance, providing meaningful commentary on variances against budget and forecast.
- Ensure robust financial controls are maintained across all finance systems and processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, systems, and financial controls.
- Complete and review month-end balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any issues.
- Build strong relationships with budget holders, cost centre managers, and Finance Business Partners.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and document financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Deliver monthly group reporting across P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Working Capital metrics.
- Conduct detailed reviews and financial analysis.
- Support financial forecasting and planning activities.
- Manage intercompany accounting processes and reconciliations.
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance to wider finance team members.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and business improvement initiatives.
Key skills
- We're looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders effectively.
- Commercially aware with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
