Are you an experienced Audit Manager looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of your portfolio, develop a team and still have clear progression ahead of you? A highly respected accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Audit Manager to its growing Preston team. You'll take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of audit clients, working closely with senior leadership while developing and mentoring the team around you.
Audit Manager Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage and review audit assignments from initial planning through to completion
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients and build strong, long-term relationships
- Lead pre-audit meetings, identifying key business developments, risks and areas requiring additional focus
- Prepare and manage assignment budgets, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and commercially
- Review audit planning documentation and ensure assignments are appropriately resourced
- Allocate work across the team to support both effective delivery and individual development
- Review work completed by Seniors and Trainees, providing constructive feedback and technical guidance
- Manage, coach and develop junior members of the team, including appraisals and training records
- Monitor WIP, chargeable hours, budgets and overall job profitability
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and client service
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across other service lines to provide a joined-up service to clients
Audit Manager Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Up-to-date knowledge of Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards
- Previous experience managing audit assignments and reviewing the work of others
- Confident managing client relationships and communicating with senior stakeholders
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets, deadlines and resources
- Comfortable coaching and developing junior members of the team
- Able to identify efficiencies, improvements and opportunities for clients
- Ambitious, personable and keen to continue progressing within a growing firm
