Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a growing UK-based financial services business to appoint an experienced Management Accountant on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Warrington, the role offers a hybrid working model and is suitable for a candidate who can take full ownership of the management accounts process during a period of system transformation and sustained growth, with genuine potential to become permanent.

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 – £60,000 (pro‑rata)
  • 35‑37.5 hour working week – flexible working offered

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the end‑to‑end production of monthly management accounts
  • Lead on balance sheet reconciliations and ensure a robust financial control environment
  • Partner with the Finance Director to deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting
  • Play a key role in a finance system transformation, supporting process improvements and data integrity
  • Produce detailed variance analysis with clear commentary for senior stakeholders
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support regulatory and financial reporting requirements within a financial services environment
  • Assist with year‑end processes and audit queries
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent), qualified by experience will be considered
  • Proven experience owning the end‑to‑end management accounts process
  • Experience within financial services or a regulated environment is advantageous
  • Previous exposure to systems implementations or transformation projects
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse large data sets
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with senior leadership
  • Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a hands‑on approach
