We're working with a hugely successful and growing business based in the heart of Birchwood that's looking to add an Assistant Accountant to its established finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive environment where you'll gain exposure to both the accounting and commercial sides of the business, giving you a varied role with plenty of scope to develop.

This isn't a role where you'll be stuck processing invoices all day.

You'll be working closely with colleagues across finance and operations, helping to manage project finances, support month-end activities and provide the financial information that helps the business make informed decisions.

If you're naturally curious, enjoy getting into the detail and want a role where you can learn, develop and take on more responsibility over time, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing depreciation.

Reconciling company credit cards and posting journals.

Preparing accruals, prepayments and revenue journals.

Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes.

Monitoring project costs from start to finish, ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout.

Processing internal recharges and cost allocations.

Working alongside operational teams to understand project performance and financial results.

Assisting with management accounts and providing financial analysis where required.

Identifying opportunities to improve processes and support the wider finance team with ad hoc duties.

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a finance role such as Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant or Finance Analyst.

A good understanding of reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.

Confident using Excel and finance systems.

Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Someone who enjoys building relationships with people across the business.

A proactive approach and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.

Whats in it for you?

Join a well-established, successful business with ambitious growth plans.

  • Study support

Gain valuable exposure to both finance and commercial operations.

25 days holiday

Genuine opportunities to progress your career as the business continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role that offers more than just the day-to-day accounts duties and want to become a key part of a collaborative finance team, we'd love to hear from you.
