Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established professional services organisation who are seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time permanent basis in Chester.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive finance function, taking responsibility for a varied role across purchase ledger, accounts administration and financial processing activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance department, ensuring accuracy, compliance and consistency across financial processes.

Job Duties
- Process purchase ledger invoices, including inputting, coding, scanning and reconciliation.
- Prepare weekly payment runs and liaise with suppliers where required.
- Manage employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
- Reconcile purchase ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Investigate and resolve unmatched invoices, credits and payments.
- Assist with month-end purchase ledger reconciliations.
- Support wider finance activities and provide cover for colleagues when required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are processed efficiently.
- Contribute to the delivery of an effective and reliable finance service
Ideal Experience
- Previous experience within a purchase ledger, accounts assistant or finance administration role.
- Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience reconciling accounts and processing high volumes of transactions.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- Professional and confident communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Excel.
- Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
