We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a successful business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of payroll processes who takes pride in delivering accurate and timely payroll services.
The Role
As Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Manage starters, leavers, changes to pay, deductions, bonuses and other payroll adjustments.
- Calculate statutory payments, including sick pay, maternity and other applicable payments.
- Ensure accurate processing of PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll reports and provide information to relevant internal teams.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations.
- Support with year-end payroll processes and reporting.
About You
- Previous experience in a payroll-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Payroll qualifications such as CIPP are desirable but not essential.
