Financial Controller Runcorn | £85,000-£90,000 + Bonus + Benefits An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance leader to join a highly successful, international engineering and technology business as Financial Controller. This is a broad, commercially focused leadership role that sits at the heart of the UK operation and acts as a trusted partner to the Managing Director and European leadership team. The business has experienced exceptional growth in recent years, and continues to invest in major infrastructure, energy and nuclear projects. The Opportunity Reporting into both the UK Managing Director and European finance leadership, you will take ownership of the finance function across multiple legal entities while providing strategic support to the senior leadership team. This role offers genuine autonomy and visibility, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager seeking a leadership position. Key Responsibilities Lead the finance function across multiple legal entities. Manage budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes. Deliver monthly management accounts, board reporting and financial analysis. Drive project financial controls across complex, long-term customer contracts. Manage treasury, cashflow forecasting and working capital. Lead year-end audit and statutory reporting processes. Oversee tax, transfer pricing and compliance activities. Provide commercial insight and decision support to the Managing Director and senior leadership team. Build strong relationships with European finance teams and support regional reporting requirements. Develop and mentor an established finance team. Support future business transformation initiatives, including ERP and systems projects. About You ACA/ ACCA qualification. Experience operating within a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Senior Finance Manager role. Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience. Experience managing projects, contracts or long-term revenue streams. The ability to influence and partner with operational and commercial stakeholders. Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, nuclear or other project-led environments would be advantageous. A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across the wider business.
