We're currently working on behalf of a company in the construction sector, who is looking for a self-employed Accountant to assist them. Predominantly, you will be providing advice to the Director on a range of accountancy matters, including:
- Reconciling current accounts, correction of any errors
- Implementing procedures and processes to ensure smooth running of the accounts department
- Advising Director of accounts positions, talking through potential solutions / outcomes
- Overseeing junior accounts staff
- Use of Xero
- Liaison with Accountants / HMRC / external bodies as needed
The company estimate that the role will be about a day per week to start, moving to a day or two per month once the processes have been streamlined and brought up to speed. Ideally, you will be able to go into the office to do these hours; the office is in central Southampton and has free parking. You will need to be a strong user of Xero software, and ideally be qualified / part qualified / QBE, with experience in implementing solutions / strategic planning.
