Part-time Finance Officer in Salisbury

We're excited to be working on the behalf of a well-regarded local heritage charity, who are seeking a new Finance Officer to join their friendly team. Duties will include:

• Banking and reconciling weekly takings, identifying any discrepancies
• Sales invoices & credit control
• Processing purchase invoices and making payment runs
• Processing monthly payroll & pensions
• Preparation of monthly management accounts & financial reporting
• Preparing and submitting Gift Aid returns
• Monitoring cash flow
• Quarterly VAT returns including partial exemption
• Liaising with auditors regarding annual accouns
• Other general duties such as assisting with HR as needed, liaising with various members of other departments to ensure everything runs smoothly, participating in training and development as needed, etc

You will need previous experience using Xero software for accounts, and any knowledge of Sage HR /Payroll would be beneficial. A background in charity accounting would be highly beneficial / knowledge of Gift Aid / partial exemption VAT, etc, however this is not essential. AAT Level 4 or equivalent qualification would be beneficial, however the charity can considered those qualified by experience. This role would definitely suit anyone with an interest in heritage / history / education.

The organisation are looking for someone to work circa 21 hours per week and can be flexible regarding how this is spread, to suit the right candidate. They would like the person to be in-office.
