We are looking for an Executive Chef to join our team at The Hoxton, Southwark. The Hoxton, Southwark is known for its colourful history and features 192 bedrooms, two restaurants – Albie & Seabird – and a thriving Meetings & Events business.

Job Description

What you'll do...

  • Lead the culinary vision and overall kitchen operation across The Hoxton Southwark, overseeing Albie, Seabird and our Meetings & Events operation.
  • Provide strategic leadership across all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency of quality, execution and standards.
  • Lead, inspire and develop the kitchen teams, creating a high-performance culture built around coaching, accountability and continuous development.
  • Be responsible for menu development across all outlets, creating commercially successful, seasonally driven concepts.
  • Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and operational leaders to develop revenue-driving initiatives and guest experiences.
  • Take ownership of food cost, labour, payroll, purchasing and kitchen productivity.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, sourcing the highest quality ingredients.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, health & safety, cleanliness and legislative compliance.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Meetings & Events, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Develop talent across the kitchen teams, identifying high performers and creating clear development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Restaurant General Managers and other departments to deliver one seamless guest experience.
  • Continuously challenge the status quo, identifying smarter ways of working that improve quality, efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

What we're looking for...

  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary leadership role.
  • Experience overseeing multiple food concepts simultaneously.
  • A proven leader with the ability to inspire, coach and develop large kitchen teams.
  • An exceptional understanding of food cost management, labour planning, payroll, purchasing and kitchen financial performance.
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of menu engineering and operational performance.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple outlets and high-profile events.
  • A genuine passion for menu innovation and creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation and kitchen compliance.
  • A collaborative leader who builds strong relationships across departments.
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to make confident decisions.
  • Passionate about developing people and creating opportunities for others.
