Job Description
The Night Supervisor welcomes all guests and takes care of them from arrival through to departure.
They contribute to guest satisfaction by providing high quality services with a warm and friendly approach.
They ensure a smooth and secure environment to all the guests during the night and supervise and support the Night team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties
- Conduct Night Auditor duties whilst on shift with the Porter Night Auditor
- Handle disruptive guests and ensure their discreet removal from the property if needed
- Responsible for all other departments in the absence of their respective managers for the duration of the night-time operation
- Handle all complaints promptly and efficiently, ensuring follow up to determine the source of the complaint and resolution of the problem
- Ensure the hotel is operating efficiently and according to hotel policy
- Ensure all public areas, outlets and the Front Office areas are clean at all times
- Issue floats
- Uphold the credit policy of the hotel - Handle guest queries regarding credit matters and report any discrepancies
- Attend and participate in meeting and training sessions provided, when requested
- Maintain responsibility for after-hours access to any closed areas
- Maintain and enforce instructions for consistent and timely back up of the computer network
- Maintain control and supervision of all audit functions
- Any other duties or projects as requested by the Manager
- Have a clear understanding of how the award affects all areas of outlets.
- Build a positive team culture with a plan for individual development.
- Complete all the appropriate paper work related to employees under your supervision.
- Health & Safety
- Notify you Manager of any reason you may not be capable of performing your tasks safely.
- Comply with safe work practices by following Accor Health, Safety and Environment policies, including the use of safe manual handling techniques, safe use of hazardous chemicals and machinery, working at heights procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Be fully conversant with departmental fire and evacuation procedures.
- Customer Relations
- Provide efficient, friendly and professional service to all guests.
- Lead by example when attending to guest requests.
Show efficiency in constantly striving to provide Total Customer Satisfaction.
- Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our customers (internal or external) are positive and productive.
- Implement the Accor values and Accor customer vision to ‘Offer the Best Service to Our Customers’.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel operations, front desk, or hospitality supervision.
- Strong knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and reservation systems.
- Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
- Ability to supervise and support night shift staff effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, especially during emergencies.
- Experience handling guest complaints and resolving issues professionally.
- Knowledge of hotel policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.
- Ability to perform night audits, reconcile accounts, and prepare daily operational reports.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays.
