Job Description
Lead the maintenance function at the hotel, ensuring reactive and proactive multi‑skilled service across all operational equipment and infrastructure. Create and oversee planned maintenance schedules for timely completion. Increase operational effectiveness, improve project delivery, and reduce equipment failure and room downtime. Implement and manage improvement plans, driving KPIs and ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. Continuously improve maintenance services and recommend necessary changes. Ensure maintenance is completed efficiently and resources are used effectively. Identify lifecycle deficiencies, produce capital budgets, and match lifecycle expectations. Act as the primary operational facilities manager, linking hotel management, regional technical teams, and UK technical services. Serve as the main point of contact for maintenance emergencies outside normal working hours, including attending the hotel when required. Support a high‑quality guest experience, maintain hotel reputation, and protect physical assets.
Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Mechanical, HVAC, or Electrical engineering.
- 3 years of hotel maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of plumbing (fixing leaks, replacing flush tanks, changing toilet bowls) and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of painting and decoration.
- Hand‑on plumbing and electrical practical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- IBOSH H&S training and ability to read/write risk assessments.
- Experience in energy management.
- Desirable: Budget planning and CAPX/OPEX cost control experience.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK (or possess a current work visa).
