Company Description

The Mercure & Ibis London Earls Court hotel is a newly renovated property in Southwest London.

The property is a large conferencing & group hotel comprising a total of 508 keys, across two distinct brands within Accor, Mercure & Ibis.

As the property is a combo there are 282 Mercure rooms & 226 Ibis rooms.

The London Suite is the main ballroom for all types of events, extremely versatile and plays a pivotal role in the property’s overall performance.

The London Suite is divisible into nine separate meeting rooms, which when combined can be one of the largest pillar-free spaces in London for events up to 1,200 guests.

The F&B outlets in the property have been created by PARIS SOCIETY .

The F&B space named Barnaby’s is perfect for social events and either the Barnaby’s Kitchen or Barnaby’s Lounge Bar can be semi or completely privatised for groups, events or additional catering / meeting space for larger residential bookings and functions.

  • The Sales Executive – Social Events & MICE is responsible for proactively developing new business opportunities across social events, private events, Barnaby's activations, MICE, agencies, associations, residential meetings and event-led opportunities.

The role is focused on generating new revenue for the Hotel by securing new business, developing existing accounts and promoting Barnaby's as a destination for private hire, networking events, celebrations, brand activations and social gatherings.

Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Senior Sales Manager, Corporate & Strategic Accounts Manager and Sales Development & Marketing Executive, the Sales Executive will maximise revenue opportunities across all hotel departments.

The role also assumes responsibility for supporting the administration function within the Sales department, ensuring all sales activity, account information and reporting is maintained to the highest standard.

  • All duties carried out should be conducted to the highest standard and in accordance with hotel standards, company policies and procedures, business objectives and legal requirements.

  • Guest Centric
  • To present a professional, friendly and efficient impression of the Hotel at all times.
  • To ensure that all tasks relating to guest comfort, guest satisfaction or the impression the guest receives of the Hotel are treated with the utmost priority.

To establish positive working relationships with guests, visitors and colleagues, creating a team that works well together and with other departments.

  • Contribute to guest satisfaction at all times by providing a high-quality personalised service throughout the guest journey.
  • To assist with resolving guest feedback and enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
  • To maintain a thorough knowledge of the Hotel's facilities, Barnaby's, services, events and the local area, actively promoting them wherever possible.
  • Sales & Business Development
  • Proactively identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across social events, Barnaby's activations, private events, MICE, agencies, associations, residential meetings and event-led opportunities.
  • Generate new private and social event enquiries for Barnaby's and the wider Hotel whilst driving new MICE and residential meeting business.
  • Develop Barnaby's as a destination for private hire, networking events, celebrations, bar activations, brand events and social gatherings.
  • Create and convert social event opportunities including birthdays, engagement parties, weddings, charity events, cultural celebrations, Christmas parties, networking events and exclusive venue hire.
  • Maximise accommodation room sales and incremental revenue across Food & Beverage, Barnaby's and MICE.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and key performance indicators relating to appointments, client interaction, account development and new business generation.
  • Manage an agreed portfolio of accounts to retain existing business and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), associations, event planners and local businesses.
  • Target key market sectors including healthcare and pharmaceutical, automotive, energy, experiential events, brand activations and association business.
  • Support the promotion of Barnaby's through local partnerships, seasonal campaigns and B2B outreach.
  • Account Management & Sales Administration
  • Work closely with the Corporate & Strategic Accounts Manager to identify and convert MICE and social event opportunities within existing and prospective corporate accounts.
  • Work closely with the Sales Development & Marketing Executive on marketing campaigns, promotional collateral, social media content, flyers and sales initiatives.
  • Conduct client appointments, site inspections, hotel show rounds, presentations and follow-up activity to maximise business conversion.
  • Attend and assist with familiarisation trips, client hospitality events, networking opportunities and promotional activities.
  • Produce accurate reports detailing sales activity, client appointments, account development and business opportunities.
  • Update and maintain sales contact lists, CRM systems and account information, ensuring all documentation and Account Development Plans remain accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct market research and identify new business opportunities through referrals, networking, business listings and market intelligence.
  • Maintain awareness of the Hotel's financial performance, sales strategy, competitor activity and market trends.
  • Work closely with the Accor Sales Network to support the achievement of the overall sales objectives for the Hotel.
  • Attend weekly and monthly Sales meetings and undertake domestic and international sales trips as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing or Senior Sales Manager.
