Carry out plumbing maintenance, repairs, and installations across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, spa facilities, and back-of-house zones.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations.
Conduct preventative maintenance on all plumbing systems, including pipework, drainage, pumps, valves, and water heaters.
Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, ensuring long-term solutions and adherence to safety standards.
Support the Engineering team with daily operational tasks, planned maintenance, and emergency call-outs.
Ensure all work complies with UK building regulations, health & safety standards, and Fairmont brand expectations.
Maintain accurate records of completed work, parts used, and follow-up requirements.
Monitor water systems, including pressure, temperature, filtration, and chemical balance where required.
Assist with major projects, refurbishments, and system upgrades.
Ensure tools, equipment, and workshop areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Spa, and F&B teams to support seamless operations.
Provide professional communication when interacting with guests or colleagues, maintaining a polished and courteous manner.
Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives related to water usage and system efficiency.
Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to stay aligned with operational priorities.
Uphold Fairmont grooming, conduct, and service standards at all times.
Demonstrate flexibility and multi-skilling, supporting additional engineering tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2β3 yearsβ experience as a plumber or maintenance engineer, ideally within hospitality, commercial buildings, or luxury environments.
- Recognised plumbing qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of UK plumbing regulations, water systems, drainage, and safety standards.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programmes and reactive repair work.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with a professional and courteous approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a wider Engineering team.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including manual handling and working in confined spaces.
- A commitment to maintaining luxury standards and supporting an exceptional guest experience.
