The In-Room Dining Waitress/Waiter provides the service of food and beverage to all guest rooms, including Mini Bar service, to the standard agreed by Management. Ensures timely and professional delivery of orders, maintains cleanliness of service equipment, and handles guest interactions with courtesy and efficiency. Responsibilities include restocking Mini Bars, accurate billing, and coordination with kitchen and service teams, while adhering to hygiene, safety, and hotel standards.

Responsibilities
  • Administration
    • Ensure punctual attendance and that the correct uniform is worn at all times.
    • Check staff appearance and grooming standards before each shift begins.
    • Sign in and out for the master key at the beginning and end of each shift.
    • Properly hand over any outstanding tasks to the next shift.
    • Ensure that all duties listed on the shift checklist are completed or handed over before finishing your shift.
  • Financial and Revenue Responsibilities
    • Ensure all charges are accurately posted to the correct room numbers when using the system.
    • Support the Room Service team in maximising revenue through effective up‑selling.
    • Process all Mini Bar charge adjustments on the same day they occur.
    • Participate in the department’s monthly stock take as required.
    • Ensure sufficient stock levels of food and beverage items (dry goods and cellar) are maintained at all times.
  • Guest Service Responsibilities
    • Verify all items on the tray or trolley against the bill before delivering to guest rooms.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Room Service menu and wine list to confidently advise guests.
    • Uphold a high standard of order taking at all times.
    • Actively promote and up‑sell all special offers.

Accurately record guest requests and coordinate with the Room Service management team. Anticipate and recognize guest needs to ensure a pleasant and memorable stay. Ensure all equipment and office areas are clean, well‑maintained, and in good working condition. Remain flexible and carry out any reasonable tasks or instructions given by your immediate supervisor. Communicate all guest messages or requests promptly to the appropriate person or department. Handle guest complaints professionally and in line with hotel procedures. Confirm VIP amenities have been delivered to the correct rooms and report any undelivered items to the responsible person. Be available and capable of working all assigned shifts.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in food & beverage service within a luxury hotel or high‑end hospitality environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a polished and professional demeanour.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of service.
  • Strong ability to anticipate guest needs and provide a personalised, discreet in‑room dining experience.
  • Sound knowledge of fine dining service standards, food hygiene, and presentation.
  • Confident in using POS systems and handling guest transactions with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, in line with luxury service demands.
