Location: On-site in Knutsford, Cheshire, North-West England (not remote).

Your purpose will be:

  • To participate in the preparation, setting up and maintenance of the golf course and areas belonging to Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere.
  • To maintain the standards, safety and quality of service as set out in the brand SOP.
  • Understand, review and continually improve the guest journey through associated golf areas.
  • To ensure that the golf shop and associated areas are set up to the standards required for daily business.
  • To liaise with the Golf Operations Manager and Duty Manager to have full knowledge and understanding of the business for the day/week.
  • To ensure the use of the golf tee time system in accordance with company policy to ensure maximum sales and product awareness.
  • To encourage golfers to use the on and off course food and beverage facilities prior to, during, and on completion of the rounds.
  • To be fully conversant with all the terms of membership, policies and procedures together with the cost structures and any particular arrangements afforded to some members.
  • To seek to attract new members whilst making every effort to maintain existing membership levels.
  • To maintain the standards of presentation and cleanliness of the golf shop at all times.
  • To ensure all cash received is accounted for and is kept secure at all times.
  • To personally adhere to the company standards of dress code and behaviour at all times and as indicated in the policy manuals.

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in golf operations or luxury guest-facing hospitality.
  • Exceptional guest service skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with high-expectation guests.
  • Strong understanding of golf etiquette and the luxury guest journey.
  • Experience using tee-sheets or booking systems, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Impeccable personal presentation, reflecting 5-star brand standards.
  • Proactive sales and service mindset, with the confidence to promote memberships, retail items, and food and beverage services.
