Job Description
This is a casual role which includes Night Shifts (8:00pm–8:00am). Are you reliable, observant and passionate about safety and security? We’re looking for a Loss Prevention Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you’ll ensure that our hotel operates safely and securely throughout the night taking responsibility for fire systems, health and safety compliance, and loss prevention procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and respond to all fire and alarm systems overnight.
- Conduct fire safety checks and maintain detailed safety and incident records.
- Manage and maintain first aid and emergency response equipment.
- Investigate and report all accidents, incidents, and irregularities.
- Oversee CCTV systems, external alarms, and nightly security patrols across the property and grounds.
Access & Key Control
- Issue and control all staff keys and locker access.
- Manage the key control register and system software.
- Monitor contractor and visitor access, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
Compliance & Training
- Maintain compliance documentation.
- Assist in the management of resort Health & Safety systems and policies.
- Provide training for Loss Prevention staff on alarms, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Liaise with external agencies and contractors as required.
Additional Duties
- Support the Engineering team during evenings and weekends if needed.
- Conduct occasional baggage and security checks for staff and contractors.
Qualifications
About You: Previous experience in a hotel, security, or loss prevention role is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure. Confident working independently during overnight shifts. Knowledge of Health & Safety and fire safety systems desirable.
