Job Description

Located in the heart of Birmingham city centre, just moments from New Street Station, ibis Birmingham New Street Station hotel welcomes thousands of guests every year. We're looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Team Member to help keep our hotel safe, well-maintained and looking its best. This a full-time role with a salary of up to £27,483 p.a. plus benefits.

The Role

  • Complete general repairs and maintenance across the hotel
  • Carry out painting and decorating works
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes
  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities
  • Work closely with the management team and external contractors
  • Ensure health, safety and compliance standards are met at all times

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous maintenance, facilities or property maintenance experience
  • Good all-round repair and DIY skills
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Painting and decorating experience is advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, electrical or carpentry works

Qualifications

  • Secondary / High school education
  • Trade Certificate will be advantageous
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in area of expertise
  • Service oriented with an eye for details
  • Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Must be well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
