Your purpose will be: To support the presentation, conditioning, and maintenance of the championship golf course at Fairmont Cheshire The Mere. The Assistant Greenkeeper plays a vital role in delivering immaculate playing surfaces, exceptional course aesthetics, and a consistently world-class golfing experience. Through technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, this role ensures the course reflects the prestige and standards of the Fairmont brand.
Job Description
- Maintain turf health through mowing, aerating, fertilising, and pest control.
- Set up and maintain course elements including bunkers, hazards, and tee markers.
- Operate and maintain greenkeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all work areas.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and golf course users.
- Apply golf rules and etiquette in course maintenance activities.
- Support renovation projects and ornamental area maintenance as required.
- Monitor and report on course conditions and operational issues.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Uphold The Mere's values and maintain high standards of professionalism.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance (or working towards) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in greenkeeping, sports turf, or grounds maintenance.
- Experience operating turf machinery including mowers, tractors, and implements.
- Knowledge of turf care, including mowing, aeration, irrigation, and nutrition.
