Our client, a commercial vehicle dealership providing servicing, inspections, repairs, diagnostics, is seeking for a Van/ HGV Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be an individual with the right expertise to take on a vital role in maintaining and servicing light goods vehicles and heavy goods vehicles. Role: Van /HGV Mechanic Salary: Β£40 000 β Β£45 000 per annum Hours: various shifts available Saturdays @ overtime rate Key responsibilities: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a wide range of LCVs /HGVs. Diagnose mechanical issues and resolve them efficiently. Conduct inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet all regulatory standards. Replace or repair faulty components such as engines, brakes, and transmissions. Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines. Requirements: Fully qualified LCV /HGV Mechanic (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent). Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to work with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work. A full, clean driving license is preferred. Desirable: Experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models. Experience in diagnostic systems and electronic repairs.
