Location: Glasgow
Our client, a franchised Top Brand Dealer with dealerships across the UK, is seeking an HGV Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a franchised dealership. The technician will be part of an ambitious team and work within a busy service department to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the department and ensure it meets its targets.
Role: HGV Technician
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30 pm / 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm; every other Saturday morning at time and a half overtime
Requirements for HGV Technician:
- Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (HGV) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working on HGVs, ideally with a range of models and types.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a good understanding of vehicle systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Full, valid UK driving license (HGV license preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities of HGV Technician:
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Diagnose faults and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform MOT preparation and repairs as required.
- Complete all relevant paperwork, including service reports, parts orders, and vehicle records.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet service deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
