We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join a successful and expanding automotive group in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician looking to work in a modern workshop environment with strong earning potential and ongoing technical development. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and vehicle preparation work across a range of manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Complete vehicle health checks (VHCs)
- Carry out vehicle preparation work to a high standard
- MOT testing (if qualified)
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation
- Follow all health & safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Experience within the motor trade (2+ years preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- A proactive and reliable approach
Desirable (but not essential)
- MOT Tester licence
- Main dealer or franchised dealership experience
- Experience with electronic VHC systems
- Knowledge of hybrid and modern vehicle technologies
