Our client is a well-known and reputable national fleet with many depots across the UK. Currently they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic to join their busy depot.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team to maintain and build employee and customer relations to ensure the workshop operation achieved its objectives and targets.
  • Ensuring quality diagnostics and repairs according to repair orders.
  • Ensuring work is quality assured and in accordance with standards and literature.
  • Maintaining working capacity of machines and tools.
  • Striving to achieve Rectification Ratio - Zero (right first time).
  • Work closely with the VMU manager and communicate the number of parts and labour needed for additional repairs.
  • Record and report time spent on repair and maintenance.
  • Assure a clean and safe workshop at all times.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 qualification is essential.
  • Experience within a fleet or commercial environment working on HGVs.
  • Practical understanding of using information technology and systems to deliver objectives.
  • Safety awareness and be committed to a right first-time ethos.
  • A flexible and can-do attitude with the ability to work in a team environment and on your own initiative.
  • HGV Class 1 Driving licence is preferred.
  • Experience with Tail lifts is desirable.
