This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager to step into a leadership role at a well-established depot operating a fleet of approximately 47 vehicles, within a progressive and values-led organisation.
Reporting directly to senior engineering leadership, you will take responsibility for engineering performance, safety standards, and fleet reliability, playing a key role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The Role
- Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled engineering team
- Deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet performance
- Drive high standards of maintenance, presentation, and compliance
- Ensure full adherence to statutory, legislative, and company requirements
- Embed a proactive and preventative maintenance culture
- Champion health & safety and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with senior engineering and local management teams
- Manage engineering operations within agreed budgetary guidelines
About You
You are an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical background and the confidence to lead at all levels. You will bring:
- A proven track record in high-quality fleet or heavy vehicle maintenance
- Experience leading teams to deliver safe and efficient maintenance programmes
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, environmental, and employment legislation
- A commercially aware, customer-focused mindset
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
- The ability to influence, challenge, and drive standards forward
You will ideally be based in, or willing to relocate to, the East of Scotland.
The Package
- £50,000 basic salary
- Company car
- Performance-related bonus
- Monday to Friday working pattern – 40 hours per week
