Ossett Academy is looking to appoint resilient and enthusiastic SEN Learning Mentors who will support Lead SEN Learning Mentors, the Associate SENDCO, and the SENCO in delivering curriculum provision and learning support for students with enhanced needs and for pupils at risk of significant underachievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support innovative and creative support programmes and interventions that re‑engage pupils with learning.
- Use experience working with vulnerable children and young people to support them in overcoming barriers to learning.
- Build rapport and communicate effectively with pupils and colleagues alike.
- Assist in the delivery of curriculum provision and learning support under the guidance of Lead SEN Learning Mentors, Associate SENDCO and SENCO.
Positions & Remuneration
- SEN Learning Mentor – Full Time – 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, salary £19,925 to £21,522 per annum (actual salary), permanent. Includes a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break per day.
- SEN Learning Mentor – Part Time – 19.5 hours per week, 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, 3 days a week (specific days to be discussed at interview), salary £11,955 to £12,913 per annum (actual salary), permanent. Includes a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break per day.
