Position Overview
The Early Years Play Assistant is responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of creative and stimulating activities for Early Years pupils, encouraging participation, and developing pupils’ social and physical play skills. The role supports the implementation of the Academy’s behaviour policy, ensures a safe inclusive atmosphere, and provides general supervision. The position is part-time Monday to Friday 12:15pm‑1:15pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of creative and stimulating activities for Early Years pupils.
- Encourage active participation and help pupils build foundational play skills.
- Facilitate the development of pupils’ social and physical play skills, ensuring high engagement.
- Support the implementation of the Academy’s behaviour policy to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
- Provide general supervision of all children and respond to immediate problems or emergencies.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to child development, an understanding of early childhood education principles, and the ability to work with a diverse group of children. Previous play or activity-based support experience is preferred. All candidates will receive training to handle emergencies and must obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
