ACCORD Hospice is looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy IPU Manager to join our In-Patient Unit team in Paisley.
This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with palliative care experience to provide clinical leadership, support service development, and help deliver outstanding person-centred care for patients and families with complex needs.

Main duties of the role
- Provide clinical leadership within the In-Patient Unit and support the day‑to‑day running of the service.
- Work closely with the IPU Manager to coordinate the multidisciplinary team and maintain high standards of specialist palliative care.
- Support, supervise and develop Registered Nurses, Clinical Support Workers, students and volunteers.
- Promote a positive, professional culture focused on patient‑centred care, safety, quality improvement and continuous learning.
- Help manage risk, incidents, complaints and clinical governance activity within the hospice.
- Contribute to education, audit, service development and effective partnership working across care settings.
- Manage the In‑Patient Unit in the absence of the IPU Manager.
- What we are looking for
- Registered Nurse with degree level training.
- Strong knowledge of current palliative care nursing practice, clinical risk and prioritisation of care.
- Excellent nursing, leadership, communication and team‑working skills.
- Experience of supporting staff development, mentorship and service improvement.
- A flexible, motivated and compassionate approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and emotionally demanding environment.
- Desirable qualifications: post‑registration qualification in palliative care; experience in teaching, supervision, mentorship, research or presentation.
