Job Description

You will be responsible for checking all Sales ledgers for the hotel. Your job will entail all supporting documentation, files and debtors are up to date and we would expect you to control the accounts of the ledger. You would have a good level of spoken English and an excellent telephone manner. The Sales Ledger Clerk is responsible for the checking of all city ledgers for the hotel, carrying out a variety of tasks at any given time working closely with other departments including Reception, Reservations, Conference and Banqueting and Meeting and Events.

Duties:

  • To check the transfer of client accounts from the Front Office to the back office.
  • To ensure all supporting documentation, vouchers and signatories are present to enable the payment of accounts.
  • To liaise with the Front Office Manager, Meeting and Events Manager, Reservations Manager and Conference and Banqueting Manager in respect of client accounts.
  • To ensure all queries are dealt within 24 hours.
  • To maintain up to date debtor files and records for audit purposes.
  • To maintain up to date purchase order files for client accounts that work with the purchase orders.
  • To maintain up to date contract rate files for all client accounts.
  • Control all paymaster accounts and account queries awaiting sales ledger transfers.
  • To ensure that company procedures are followed in respect to payment delay.
  • Ensure that all credit card transactions are verified for completeness and the accounts formally reconciled on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Ideally you must have previous knowledge and understanding of the OPERA system.
