Norton Grange Hotel is now looking to recruit a gym and leisure assistant to deliver a great experience for our members and guests. Bringing previous working experience in a fitness and leisure environment, you’ll be keen to assist in the running of the leisure club and Spa, including assisting our members, hotel guests and visitors. You should be qualified to a minimum standard of Level 2 gym instructor and have a first aid qualification. Pool plant qualification/knowledge would be an advantage. Having previous experience of the leisure industry you will have excellent customer service skills and some experience of selling memberships.
Shifts: 0615-1415 and 1400-22.15.
Responsibilities:
- To report any breakdowns and promptly rectify them.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of gym equipment through in-depth inductions, programmes & reviews.
- Reception duties such as answering the telephone, taking bookings, cash handling, membership sales & retention.
- Serving drinks and food, general cleaning of the club and any other duties that the club requires in an operational capacity.
- Management of swimming pool water testing.
- General cleaning duties in and around all public areas of the club.
- Aid in the sales and retention plans of the club to improve membership numbers and treatment sales.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are carried out with specific emphasis on checking cleanliness, maintenance and safety of all equipment.
- Be fully aware of Reception, Gymnasium, Pool, Sauna and Steam safe operating procedures.
- Oversee the control of the daily takings throughout the day.
- Operate the Leisure Club Reception computer system.
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the Leisure Club at all times in accordance with Leisure Club/Company procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of guests and members of the Leisure Club.
- Ensure that all persons entering the Leisure Club are correctly registered, e.g. as members, guests or non-members.
- Make regular checks on the stock of towels, tissues, soap, toilet paper etc., ensuring an adequate stock is available at all times.
- Be responsible for the smooth operation of the Leisure Club whilst on duty, carrying out regular water tests on the Hydro pool, taking immediate action should the results of these tests pose any danger to users.
- Be able to sell membership to potential members.
- Have a good general understanding of Health & Safety legislation including that of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
- Be constantly aware of opportunities to promote the Leisure Club through all sales outlets and also in the local community.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification essential.
- Previous customer service experience essential.
Rate of Pay: National Living Wage (based on age).
