As a Night Agent at Fairmont Palliser, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless overnight experience for our guests while upholding the brand’s commitment to exceptional service. Your responsibilities include:

  • Completing the night audit and overseeing all overnight front desk operations with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Upholding Fairmont Palliser and Front Office core standards at all times.
  • Contributing to guest loyalty by consistently exceeding expectations and delivering warm, personalized service.
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Desk during overnight hours.
  • Handling guest comments and complaints professionally, ensuring appropriate follow-up and communication with colleagues and leadership.
  • Staying informed on room rates, seasonal offers, packages, and promotions.
  • Managing pre-arrival tasks, including blocking rooms for special requests, VIPs, and loyalty members.
  • Greeting and registering guests warmly and efficiently, ensuring all procedures are followed to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Issuing room keys while maintaining strict adherence to security protocols.
  • Handling guest departures professionally, including express checkout and encouraging return visits.
  • Responding to guest inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Accurately counting and balancing your cash float and night audit at the end of each shift.
  • Maintaining clear and concise communication with team members and leadership during shift handovers.
  • Ensuring guest and colleague safety by maintaining knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures, including operation of the fire panel.
  • Attending regular Front Office meetings and training sessions.
  • Delivering consistently superior guest service throughout all stages of the guest journey—pre-arrival, arrival, stay, and departure.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Front Desk experience is an asset.
  • Must be available to work overnight shifts.
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or a university degree is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Proficient in hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, PMS, or similar).
  • Basic math and accurate cash-handling skills.
  • Personable, professional, and well-presented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remain alert and focused throughout night shifts.
  • Strong multitasking and time management capabilities.
