Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of pupils with SEND.
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate and deliver training for staff on SEND strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching.
  • Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND and adapt provision accordingly.

Requirements:

  • QTS
  • SENDCO accreditation (or willingness to undertake it)
  • Proven experience coordinating SEND provision in a complex educational setting.
  • Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, statutory requirements, and inclusive education.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff in delivering high-quality SEND provision, modelling the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective SEND strategies and monitor impact.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with staff, pupils, parents, and external professionals.
