We support adults who have a dual diagnosis of Autism or a mild Learning Disability, our aim is to promote independence and positive experiences. Staff support our residents to manage and learn to accept themselves as autistic individuals with their own unique set of strengths as well as any struggles they face.
In a setting where verbal communication may be limited, observing the smiles and positive body language of the people supported holds profound significance. As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including:
- Prompting people we support with independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
- Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administering medication.
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
- Assisting with personal care.
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
