CIS Payroll Business Development Manager – Construction Sector
£40,000–£50,000 basic + uncapped commission | Field Based UK | Home Based
Are you a construction sales professional who thrives on winning new business?
Do you know the difference between building a pipeline and actually closing deals?
Accomplish Today’s client is looking for an experienced CIS Payroll Business Development Manager / New Business Sales Executive to introduce construction contractors to a specialist Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payroll service.
This is a true hunter role. We are looking for someone who enjoys finding opportunities, opening doors, meeting business owners face to face, and converting conversations into signed contracts and live payroll clients.
This is not an account management role. There is no farming an existing client base and no sitting behind a desk waiting for leads. Your focus is simple:
Win new construction contractor clients and get them successfully running payroll.
Success is measured by revenue generated and contractors onboarded, not calls made, meetings booked or the size of your CRM.
The Role – CIS Payroll Sales & Business Development
Working across a UK-wide territory, you will identify construction companies that could benefit from outsourcing their subcontractor payroll through a compliant CIS solution.
You will meet contractors where they operate — in their offices, at their businesses and on-site — building trust with owners and decision makers and demonstrating the value of moving their CIS payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business opportunities with construction contractors requiring CIS payroll support
- Prospect, approach and develop relationships with construction business owners, directors and decision makers
- Sell a specialist CIS payroll solution that helps contractors manage subcontractor payments and HMRC compliance
- Understand existing payroll arrangements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance and service
- Conduct face-to-face sales meetings and convert opportunities into signed contracts
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure new clients are successfully transitioned and payroll is running quickly after sign-up
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and forecasting information
- Represent the business professionally across a UK-wide customer base
About You – The Successful CIS Payroll Sales Professional
You are a self-motivated new business salesperson who enjoys hunting for opportunities and closing deals.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in B2B new business sales, ideally within construction, payroll, recruitment, finance, compliance or related services
- Experience selling directly to business owners, directors or senior decision makers
- A strong understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and how contractors and subcontractors operate
- A track record of converting prospects into paying customers
- Confidence working autonomously in a home-based, field sales environment
- The ability to build credibility quickly with construction professionals
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach — someone who creates opportunities rather than waits for leads
- A full UK driving licence
An existing network of construction contractor contacts would be advantageous, but the ability to win new relationships is more important.
What’s On Offer
- £40,000–£50,000 basic salary depending on experience
- Uncapped commission scheme
- Commission paid on genuine business won and payroll successfully running
- Fully field-based role with autonomy and flexibility
- Home-based working with regular travel to contractor offices and sites
- Opportunity to play a key role in growing a specialist construction payroll service
Ready to Win New Business?
If you understand construction, know CIS payroll, and enjoy being the person who opens doors and closes deals, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.
