ROLE: Acquired Brain Injuries Support Worker

LOCATION: Isfryn, Ystradgnlais (SA9)

SALARY: £12.60 to £13.30 per hour

HOURS: 35 hours a week

SHIFT: 8:30am - 9:00pm

About Isfryn

Isfryn is situated between the village Ystylafera and the town of Ystradgynlais, in the Swansea valleys. There are 8 people living at Isfryn. Each person has a brain injury, and some have a secondary mental health diagnosis. Isfryn is mostly a calm environment, though it can be busy. Staff state it is a rewarding place to work. We need staff who will support the people here with their personal daily needs and activities. People like to go out into the community to do various things like attending church, the cinema, visiting the pub, café and shopping. Transport links are limited on Sundays.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
