Job Role: Female Wake Night Support Worker

Location: Grove View, Birchgrove (SA7)

Pay Rate: £13.20 - £13.90 per hour

Shifts: Wake Night 21:00-08:30

Please note we require a Female Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting.

About Grove View: Located within the small, friendly community of Birchgrove, Grove View is a female gender specific home for 9 women with mainly mental health support needs. The people we support enjoy a variety of activities including bowling, walking, going to the cinema, shopping, going on holidays, arts and crafts, cooking and eating out.

We have a dedicated staff team and are looking for staff who are kind, compassionate, caring, fun and enthusiastic to join us. We work closely alongside individuals with self-harm and suicide ideation, utilising Mental Health relapse prevention plans and picking up on early trigger and warning signs to minimise the risks. Due to the current high-risk needs within the home, we are seeking someone with proven experience supporting individuals at risk of significant self-harm, including awareness and management of ligature risks.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
