JOB ROLE: Female Support Worker
LOCATION: Grove View, Birchgrove (SA7)
PAY RATE: £14.05 - £14.75 per hour
SHIFTS: 08:30 - 21:00 PM
Please note we require a Female Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting, making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.
About Grove View
Located within the small, friendly community of Birchgrove, Grove View is a female gender‑specific home for 9 women with mainly mental health support needs. The people we support enjoy a variety of activities including bowling, walking, going to the cinema, shopping, going on holidays, arts and crafts, cooking and eating out. We have a dedicated staff team and are looking for staff who are kind, compassionate, caring, fun and enthusiastic to join us. We work closely alongside individuals with self‑harm and suicide ideation, utilising Mental Health relapse prevention plans and picking up on early trigger and warning signs to minimise the risks.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day support and routine of the people we support.
- Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
- Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
- Assisting with personal care as required.
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
- Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
