JOB ROLE: Support Worker
LOCATION: Newport, Gwent (NP20)
PAY RATE: £13.20 – £13.90 per hour
SHIFTS: 08:00AM – 20:30

About Woodside Cottage & The Elms
Woodside Cottage offers bespoke support and enablement for eight people with Learning Disability and additional support needs such as Autism, Acquired Brain Injury or other complex health needs. The Elms provides two studio apartments with a clear progression pathway and 24-hour staffing to support skill development and independent living in a safe, risk-managed environment.
Responsibilities
- Prompting people we support with independence while helping them live a fulfilling life
- Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administering medication
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping
- Assisting with personal care (depending on the person we support)
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within the care sector is not essential as full training is provided
- Essential: enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values and support people to live happy and healthy lives
