Package Description

ROLE: Support Worker

LOCATION: Merthyr Tydfil, CF47

SALARY: £13.20 – £13.90* per hour

HOURS: 35 hours a week

About The Jays

The Jays is a Brand-new service, which will be opening in 2025. At The Jays we provide accommodation and support for up to 7 adults with Autism, Mental Health Needs, Learning Disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries.

We listen and understand what each person would like to achieve in life. We then work closely with them, their family, circle of support and other professionals to define goals and how we can work together to achieve them.

As a Support Worker, You Will Be Involved In The Day To Day Support And Routine Of The People Within The Service Including

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.

Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development
