The predicted salary is between 11 - 12 £ per hour.

LOCATION: Llanelli, Carmarthenshire (SA15)

SALARY: £14.40 - £15.00* per hour

HOURS: 35 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERNS: 8:30AM – 9:00PM and occasional nights 9:00PM – 8:30AM

Due to continued growth, we are urgently seeking full time (35 hours per week) Senior Support Workers to join our team at Gwynfryn.

About Gwynfryn

At Gwynfryn we provide a supportive setting for ten people with Mental Health needs, where they can feel comfortable, safe and happy. We appreciate the value of a warm welcome and a relaxed and homely environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Support Workers
  • Providing high standards of care and support for the people we support, in line with care and support plans
  • Encourage good community relationships by promoting a variety of activities
  • Accurately report, record and maintain records as required and working to care plans
  • Liaise with health professionals and their families
  • Complete supervisions and audits
  • To ensure that all duties undertaken by reporting staff are performed to required standards, and that all such staff contribute in a positive manner to provide a happy, efficient and homely atmosphere within the Home.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of QCF Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care and working towards QCF Level 3
  • Proven experience at Team Leader or Shift Leader level (or higher)
  • Residential care experience is essential (not solely domiciliary care)
  • Experience within a mental health setting is highly preferred
  • Not limited to elderly care or learning disabilities
  • Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act (MHA) and associated legislation
  • Candidates must demonstrate awareness of the complexities involved in supporting individuals under this framework
  • Must be flexible and prepared to work: Evenings and weekends as part of a rota, Occasional night shifts (very rarely, as required)
  • UK Drivers License
