Salary: £14.05 - £14.75 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in Welsh.
- Male support worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting, making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.
- All applicants must be over the age of 18 due to the vulnerable nature of the people that we support.
About Cedar House: At Cedar House we support 14 people with Mental Health needs, Acquired Brain Injuries, Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities. We work with people with varied abilities and needs. We enable people to develop their skills, strengths and resilience. We help them to develop their own set of resources to self‑manage and stay well. We provide people with the right support to assist them in developing coping techniques which can make a noticeable difference in their everyday lives.
Responsibilities:
- Day‑to‑day support and routine of the people we support.
- Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
- Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
- Assisting with personal care as required.
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
- Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
