Overview

ROLE: Support Worker
LOCATION: Merthyr Tydfil, CF47
SALARY: £13.20 – £13.90 per hour
HOURS: 35 hours a week
Driving licence: Full UK Driving Licence Required

Please Note: This position requires a Male Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we support. This makes the role exempt from gender discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.

About The Jays / Keys Group

The Jays is a brand-new service, which will be opening in 2025. At The Jays we provide accommodation and support for up to 7 adults with Autism, Mental Health Needs, Learning Disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries. Keys Group supports over 2,500 individuals across England and Wales through its divisions: Accomplish, Keys, and Peak. Keys Group is committed to veteran-friendly policies and offers a Veterans Peer Support Network. A guaranteed interview is available to current and former service personnel who meet the criteria for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service.
  • Promoting independence while helping residents live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and assisting with health care needs, including accompanying residents to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, and shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience within the care sector is not required as full training, coaching and development is provided.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is required (as noted in the overview).
