Job Role: Support Worker

Location: Fairford Court, Friern Barnet (N11)

Hours: 24 - 36 hours per week

Salary: £14.05 - £14.75 per hour

Please note we require a Male Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting, making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.

About Fairford Court: We are a residential service that supports up to 8 people with Autism and/or Asperger’s Syndrome, learning disabilities and mental health issues. Joining our team at Fairford Court will be fulfilling, fun and rewarding, offering you stability with the opportunity to grow and develop your career further. Many of our Managers and Team Leaders joined us as a Support Worker and through ongoing training and coaching provided by us they are continuing to move further up the career ladder into more senior positions.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Prompting service users' independence while helping them live a fulfilling life
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administering medication
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping
  • Assisting with personal care (depending on service user)
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking
